Sermon Series: Going Deep, Going Wide: A Vision for the Future

The Hopewell United Methodist Church Pastor Kate Hillis will present a sermon series on visioning and what God is calling us to do. The series is titled, “Going Deep, Going Wide: A Vision for the Future.” This week’s message will be “Going Wide: A Peaceful Harvest.”

Adult Discussion Group

Adult Sunday Small Group (at 9 am) has begun a new series led by Wren Hillis. Wren is teaching a fall series on “How to Read the Old Testament: It’s trickier than you think!”

Good Reads for Fall

We have a great list of books that we will be discussing this fall. We meet at 7 pm and open with prayer concerns. We would love to have you join us and bring a friend, too.

I’d like to start off by saying that it has been an honor to get to know this congregation over the last two months. The more you share with me your stories, history, concerns and dreams for the future of this church, the more it has inspired me to be deeply in prayer about where God is calling us to go as a community.

Scenes from Fall Kick-Off/Pancake Breakfast

In September, we started new sessions for Adult Sunday Small Group and for Children’s Sunday School and had a lovely pancake brunch after services.

HUMC Butterfly Garden to be Dedicated in Honor of Norma Arons

The Hopewell United Methodist Church will honor the memory of long-time member and leader Norma Arons on Sunday, September 25, with the dedication of a butterfly garden on the church property. The program will be followed by “Sundae Sunday,” where there will be a “Make Your Own” ice cream sundae bar.
