The Hopewell Community Closet is partnering with the non-profit Educational Advocates Reaching Today’s Hardworking Students to help families living below the poverty line by collecting toiletries and household cleaning supplies.
In response to the many recent natural disasters in the U.S. and elsewhere, the Hopewell Council of Churches conducted a collection for cleaning supplies and packaged 30 relief buckets during the Church Has Left the Building Day on Sunday, Nov 5.
The Hopewell UMC is working hard to provide a bit of holiday spirit for those who would otherwise not have a good holiday. In November, we collect for Operation Christmas Child and for HomeFront Thanksgiving baskets. So bring in your donations on Sunday, Nov. 12.
The Hopewell UMC Open Mic Nights for the next two months are set for Friday, Nov. 3 and Friday, Dec. 1. Doors open at 6:30 pm and special “Kids Mic” project from 7 pm to 8 pm. Beginners and advanced musicians are welcome as well as anyone who just wants to listen and support the musicians!
At Hopewell UMC, we believe that God has given us an awesome vision: to be a community of hope for a hurting world. But in a world reeling from natural disasters, polarizing opinions, racial tensions, acts of violence, and human devastation, this vision may seem more difficult than ever.
United Methodists in GNJ have many close ties to our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico. Working with the Methodist Church in Puerto Rico we are developing special resourcing and support for those in need after Hurricane Maria.
