The Capital District is participating in a day of learning around worship. The Doxology: A Worship Conference will take place on Saturday, November 12 from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm at Calvary Korean UMC in East Brunswick. Everyone who serves in worship ministry will come away with practical learning!
The HUMC took up a special offering for the West Virginia UM Conference Sunday, July 10 to assist with flood relief, but there are still ways to give. In the request that Greater New Jersey Bishop John School sent out to all churches, he noted that “When people hurt, United Methodists help. After Superstorm Sandy, United Methodists from around the world sent donations for our recovery. One of the first and most generous United Methodist conferences to respond with financial gifts and volunteers was the West Virginia Conference. . .
The congregation of Hopewell United Methodist Church welcomed Rev. Kate Hillis as the new pastor, starting this week. Leaders of the church participated in a welcoming ceremony for Pastor Kate and her husband, Wren Hillis, a Drew Theological student, who is also pursuing ordained ministry. Pastor Kate succeeds Rev. Dr. Ken Robinson, who retired from the Hopewell United Methodist Church in June,
The Hopewell Community Closet is open for browsing and shopping, every Saturday from 9 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. This outreach is sponsored by the United Methodist Women of Hopewell Methodist Church and donations accepted support UMW missions and outreach. United Methodists in Greater New Jersey imagined a new generation of disciples, vital congregations and a transformed world at the 2016 Annual Conference in Wildwood, N.J., May 21-24, as more than 1,400 people attended the conference. Stories of transformation were shared as we were called to abandon security and embrace trust, boldly imagining and anticipating the great things God has in store for us.
