The HUMC took up a special offering for the West Virginia UM Conference Sunday, July 10 to assist with flood relief, but there are still ways to give.
In the request that Greater New Jersey Bishop John School sent out to all churches, he noted that “When people hurt, United Methodists help. After Superstorm Sandy, United Methodists from around the world sent donations for our recovery. One of the first and most generous United Methodist conferences to respond with financial gifts and volunteers was the West Virginia Conference. Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball brought a group of volunteers. … They carried our burden in their heart after Sandy and now it is our opportunity to lift them up through our prayers and gifts.”
Anyone wishing to donate to the West Virginia Flood Relief fund, you may do so by noting on your check to HUMC – UM Disaster Response #935 or if giving cash please note on the Mission envelope found in your pew.
