New Adult Sunday School Study about
Jesus and the Core Teachings of the Church

A series of Sunday School Classes during the season of Lent will explore how Jesus informed and shaped the Church’s understanding of itself, of Scripture, humanity and God. It will look closely at the United Methodist Church’s core teachings in the light of Jesus. Rev. Walter Fenton will lead the class.

  • Feb. 28: Jesus and the Teaching of the Sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures for Salvation
  • March 7: Jesus and the Teaching of the Incarnation
  • March 14: Jesus and the Teaching of Faith in the Holy Trinity
  • March 21: Jesus and the Teaching of the Resurrection of the Body
  • March 28: Jesus and the Teaching of the Sacraments

Reading Group Gathers for Book Talk

“Same Kind of Different as Me” will be the next book that the group will discuss. It is an autobiography co-written by Ron Hall & Denver Moore (the main characters of the book.)

Brief synopsis:  Hollywood art dealer Ron Hall and former Louisiana indentured servant Denver Moore reflect on their lives and the friendship that was established between them thanks to Ron’s late wife Deborah’s volunteer work at Union Gospel Mission in Fort Worth, Texas.

We will be meeting on Tuesday, March 23 at 7:00 pm.
