The Hopewell United Methodist Women will present “Improving Community/Family Engagement Through Resource-Based Partnerships” at their annual dinner and speaker program on June 14, 2018. The dinner is at 6:30 PM and program will start at 7:15 PM.
Speaker: Denise Kenner – Bennett, founder EARTHS (Educational Advocates Reaching Today’s Hardworking Students)
Denise Kenner- Bennett is a Pennsylvania Licensed Social Worker who works as a partner relations consultant for the non-profit, EARTHS. It is an education-based organization whose mission is to improve the academic outcomes of children living in deep poverty. We do this by providing family-based literacy workshops that help strengthen the shared learning experiences within the family and the community.
Topics to be discussed:
- Aligning an organization’s mission with the needs identified by the community.
- Techniques for establishing partnerships with organizations that share your values.
- Strategies for empowering your community/families.
- Assessing and evaluating your work.
This program is free and open to all in the community! The dinner is a potluck of salads and desserts.
Sign up in the church foyer if you are bringing food! Bring your friends and family, too.
