Pastor Kate Hillis presented sermon series titled “Defying Gravity: Breaking Free From a Culture of More,” focusing on stewardship in November.
The four-message series will continue through November, culminating on our Commitment Sunday worship experience on Nov. 26.
In “Discovering Gravity,” the kickoff message in the series, Pastor Kate examines why our “stuff” has such a strong hold on us, and discusses how worship is such an important part of how we think about stewardship at the Hopewell United Methodist Church.
There is power in the common table, where we share meals, ideas and life with others. Pastor Kate reflects on this in “Breaking Free,” a message building upon Luke 15, which continues our stewardship series, “Defying Gravity: Breaking Free From a Culture of More.”
Pastor Kate Hillis completes her sermons on stewardship, with a message titled “Defying Gravity: Breaking Free from A Culture of More.” Pastor Kate sums up the series with thoughts on Matthew 10:34-42, exploring how we deal with the gap between society’s priorities and God’s ideals for stewardship.
