Join us Saturday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church for an evening of music and song celebrating the 100th birthday of legendary folk musician Pete Seeger.
You’ll hear a myriad of local performers from the Einstein Alley Musicians Collaborative to our local band “The Beagles” as we pay tribute to one of the most iconic and pioneering singer-songwriters of folk music in American history that includes songs from Pete Seeger’s two bands; The Weavers and the Almanac Singers (which included the notable Woody Guthrie). You’ll definitely want to sing along!
Tickets are $10 each and since all artists are kindly donating their talent and time, all funds raised will go to local environmental causes such as the Sourland Conservancy and the Watershed Institute.
This is the perfect opportunity for you to contribute to our own environmental groups and fill Pete’s legacy of long-time activism for nature and keeping our waterways clean as he established the non-profit organization “Hudson River Clearwater Sloop” to raise awareness of our impact on the environment and to build programs to facilitate cleanup.
