The Street Lawyer by John Grisham
Michael Brock is one step away from partnership in a giant law firm in D.C. In an instant, it all comes undone when a homeless man takes nine lawyers hostage in the firm. Michael survives but his assailant did not. Michael does some digging and finds out who this man was. He learns he was a mentally ill veteran who’d been in and out of shelters for many years. Michael digs a little deeper, and finds out a dirty secret that involves the firm he is working for. With that, Michael leaves the firm and takes a top-secret file with him. He lands in the streets as an advocate for the homeless, a street lawyer.

Smoke Screen by Terri Blackstock
Revisiting one of our favorite authors with her newest book. One father was murdered. Another was convicted of his death. All because their children fell in love. A gripping suspense that is full of secrets and lies. A real page turner.
Keep watching the church website for more information later about our January 2021 book choice as well as others for next year!
Happy Reading Everyone!
