Greetings Hopewell UMC! Every time I read Ecclesiastes 3, the catchy tune from The Byrd’s 1965 hit “Turn! Turn! Turn!” always pops in my head. If you’re not familiar with the song, it pretty much takes the Ecclesiastes 3 text and interprets it into these lyrics. . .
As I sit down to write this, Wren and I find ourselves in a flurry of transition. Currently, we are in the midst of furiously packing up our house, packing for Annual Conference, and perhaps most exciting — packing to go on a cross-cultural trip to the country of Turkey.
At Hopewell UMC, we believe that God has given us an awesome vision: to be a community of hope for a hurting world. But in a world reeling from natural disasters, polarizing opinions, racial tensions, acts of violence, and human devastation, this vision may seem more difficult than ever.
Lots of fall news from Hopewell UMC. Our newsletter is published in time for planning your fall and winter.
Our newsletter reflects Earth Awareness Month in the coverage of recent events – the Interfaith Conversation on the Environment, the blessing of the animals and more. And find out what’s in store for June.
