Lent Services & Ash Wednesday

Lent begins this year on Ash Wednesday, February 17, and goes through Easter Sunday, April 4.  This year, HUMC will be delivering Lenten Kits to our church community.  Each kit will come with a daily devotional, communion cups, a Lenten calendar, and a few surprises for you and your family to journey with us through this season.  If you are not on our mailing list, but would like to receive a Lenten Kit, please email your address to our church Secretary Liz McCormack at: hopewellumcsecretary@gmail.com

In collaboration with the Hopewell Council of Churches, HUMC will host a virtual Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, February 17th, at 7 PM.  Temporary Ash tattoos will be included in your Lenten Kit or, if you did not receive one, a basket will be set up outside of the church building.  Please join us virtually on Ash Wednesday: Zoom meeting link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82086152038

Lent Soup Suppers and Worship

The Hopewell Council of Churches will continue its tradition of hosting Wednesday evening Soup Suppers and Worship during the season of Lent.  This year we will meet virtually from 6:30-7:30pm via this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82086152038.

The link will be the same each week.  During the 6:30-7:00pm time slot, we will gather and fellowship.  Each week our COC intern will reach out to the various churches to share our favorite soup recipes.  Then, attendees will be invited to share their soup together during this time.  The more traditional worship will begin at 7:00-7:30pm.

A Word from Pastor Laura

A Word from the Pastor. . . Perhaps during these challenging times it may feel as though we are falling to the ground sad and anxious, shouting to the Lord “if it’s possible, take this cup of suffering away from me.”  . . . Read more here.

Book Talk Discussion Group

Book talk is a group of people who enjoy reading and discussing books together. We have set our fall books and will be planning the future ones!
